Roy Toft

So back story, I asked my friend to pick a country that no one new about. They chose Botswana. This is where I came across this young photographer.
Toft is a natural wildlife photographer. He is known for capturing the animals spirit. You might know him from national geographic. He also funded International League of Conservation Photography.
He enjoys teaching one on one with photographers and taking his own, capturing wildlife around the world.
You can check out some more of his works as well as his foundation here.

Esther Havens

This photographer I came across, is a person who I admire her work, for she her working in various countries around the world. I like her for her work in third world countries, capturing the stories of those who reside within.
Through her travels, she came down to earth and decided that she wanted to do something through her work and her name to help those in the third world. She created a organization called charity water, in which she asked friends and family to donate to a water well fund for those in those countries. With her succession, she was able to document the result of her giving back.

Magnus Wennman

This week I came across this award winning photojournalist from Stockholm. I came across her photo series which reveals where Syrian children have been sleeping. When taking such photos, he he traveled to the places where these children were fleeing too to try to tell the young's stories. http://darbarnensover.aftonbladet.se/chapter/english-version/

The photographer I chose this week is Laura Stevens. I came across this particular artist while researching ideas for my narrative project. Laura is known for doing a series of stories inside her photography. She has ranged on many topics but the ones that interest me the most is her interpretations on her outlook on relationships and sexuality. The three projects that she did that stood out to me the most is her single narrative, which is a life of a single girl and the range of emotions you undergo, as well as the photos that interpret feelings after a break up and her take on different types of relationships or failing relationships. My descriptions really don't give it justice, I would really give her work a look for yourself.

Photographer #12 Brassai, who is a french/Hungarian man. Through his life he was known for his Photography, Poetry and Sculptures. He was also antiquated with Pablo Picasso and Dali.
His photos included mostly the Paris nightlife in which he was engulfed in. All of his images are black and white which is something that i find very interesting. When it comes to pictures taken from the streets, or from a nightlife scene, i love the mood black and white images give you. Color is taken away so all your information comes from the clothing, facial expressions and scenes which each person is apart of.

Photographer #11 Henri Cartier-Bresson
Once Bresson fled to Africa after a heart break, he shot and sold game to local villagers. Through hunting he found ways to put that knowledge into his photos. It is with this knowledge that i think he took with him when he traveled back in France and became close to the surrealist. He took this shot of the three African Boys "Three Boys at Lake Tankanyika," and it captures the raw images of life in that environment. I find his whole story very interesting. Photographer#10 Brian Duff
I decided to ponder around famous photographers from Britain and came across him. Brian was a famous photographer that took pictures in the 60's and 70's. it is said to say that he became uninterested in photography at one time and burned a lot of his negatives. He started to shoot again soon before he died.  He was known for taking images of other famous people such as John Lennon and Audrey Hepburn and people alike. I chose to show these images because i love how they are executed. The little boy and girl looking at each other from ways away with the "love" sign above them. The stylish woman with the newspaper going across the picture in an almost organised fashion, and the two woman who take fill up the image, engulfing your interest by their fierce facial expressions.

Today i decided to look up specifically famous digital photographers. I am a big fan of wildlife photography, that is why i chose to look up the 2015 wildlife photographer of the year winner. The winner this year goes by the name of Don Gutoski who caught a striking image which he likes to call "Tale of Two Foxes". Not that it matters, but foxes are by far my favorite animal which makes this image so much more striking. It makes you wonder about the image so much more. Foxes can be very caring creature. This image in particular reminds me of that viral video where one fox goes and tries to "wake up" or get another fox from the road, in which he was hit by a car several minutes before.

Though i say this, and this is something i want to believe, i know what the image truly is..The red fox had actually killed the arctic fox. And the fact that this photographer was able to capture this ferocious battle of these beautiful creatures makes it that more wonderful.

Aside from this here are other wildlife pictures created by Don

(also, i copy and pasted Dons name to make sure i didn't spell it wrong and it completely changed my fonts and made all these words with white outlines, i just don't know how to fix it. So i apologize.

yet ANOTHER photographer,

Robert Capa.
Robert is known mostly for his pictures of battles during the world war and other. In his lifetime he was able to capture the most stunning images of american history. Capture the fear, the victories, the sadness and the happiness of the men and woman who lived and fought during the war, as well as the love that emerged in such a hard time.

The next photographer I found for this week is Ansel Adams. I am taken aback by all of his images, not only in the sense of all the black and white, but the sites and the views taken in places that one could only dream of. The natural beauty's of the world taken, and his ability to catch the lights and the dark's of an image just the right way. The imagery he was able to create within his lifetime takes you back to a century I wouldn't have known about unless i was looking at his images. I have a tendency to like photographers that share the images of nature as it is at that time.. because the world is always changing, and in a hundred years, the picture that he had created then, will never be able to be taken again.

3 out of 3

The third photographer i found is Nan Goldin. I love the sense of darkness that is portrayed in all of her photos. She is more interesting than anything....I was sitting their scrolling through her images and it just gave me a strange feeling look at all her images. Dark lighting, and the sense of being on the cusp of death or in a really bad way of life. The picture to your left is a picture that was taken for a fashion magazine.

Post 2 out of 3.

The second artist i found is Joel Meyerowitz...Basically he is one of the few photographers i found that take pictures of the things about society that you don't want to see, or creates images that make you feel rather uncomfortable....Among images that can be kind of controversial or risque. I love this aspect of his work because everyone always searches for the "perfect" image to represent a "perfect society" when in reality, society isn't perfect.
He just generally catches things that happen in everyday life.

I'm behind on post an posting about awesome photographers i found. So here is the first out of 3.

The first photographer is Neil Leifer. I am interested in his work for his ability to get in motion shots. When it comes to sports it hard to catch the perfect image, and Neil gets the perfect shot in motion almost every time, He creates clean images that make you almost feel like you are on the side lines.

The artist I posted for the week is Katharina Jung. Her photos stick out to me because the way she portrays her art and the themes she chooses to make. She is a surrealistic artist and she places all these crazy things within her art to portray different things.

My new photographer of the week is Greg Ponthus. He is another new young photographer that i found who creates amazing images. The thing that stood out most about him was his use of focus and color. He creates very fluid images that gives you the feeling of "silence," or the feeling of a skipped heart beat.

My first photographer that interested me this week is the 18 year old photographer and filmmaker that goes by the name of Alec Currie. So far his works focus on conveying a story through images, and trying to create an emotional connection with the viewer. He interest me because his photos share more of a realistic tone, while covering a broad spectrum of adventure and wonder of a young mind while they are still experiencing it as it happens in real time. As some older photographers try to recreate this feeling they once experienced, they sometimes are unable to recreate the exact emotion they felt in that exact moment while actually living it.
